11 Step Blueprint

When I was first introduced to this internet marketing world, I was totally amazed to learn that there are potentially SO many ways to earn online and that people are really earning hefty amounts. Of course there are many scam claims floating around all over the internet. All you need to do is run a bit of research in google.com to identify which programs are scam and which are absolutely legitimate.

Anyways, this article can just show you a path to begin your journey to this online business world,

a world which is full of opportunities,

a world which can lead you to the financial freedom you always dream of,

a world where you earn with only a computer and an internet connection (isn’t that amazing?),

a world where you earn without ever having the need to talk to anyone (wowww, finally you won’t have to pitch your friends and family members anymore to buy your service or products so that you can start making sales in your business – sounds familier?),

So welcome my friend, welcome to the internet home based business world….

If you are really serious about making money over internet, please invest some of your time to go through this entire article.

Let’s get introduced to the steps now.

1. Find your “WHY” and Have an Abundance Mindset

Before jumping into this, let me ask you a question.

WHY do you want to start an internet home based business?

You might be surprised to learn that I didn’t have any idea whatsoever of internet marketing, before I got my chance to peep in this world. I had never heard of affiliate marketing earlier and very truly, I had never thought of owning any business of my own.

“Now that’s very unreal” – You must be thinking!!! But I can’t help, its the truth my friend. Read on…

Being frustrated with my life as an unhappy IT professional, I started looking for some way out. But there was a problem!!! I didn’t know which way to proceed. And most unfortunately I didn’t have any mindset to start something new of my own. I never ever believed that I can do any business. I was never a good speaker, I was never a public person.

All I had was a strong WHY. Why was I looking for a way out? Because I was desperately looking for a better lifestyle. I felt I deserve to utilize my time according to my own wish. I couldn’t stand the chance to answer my boss anymore. I wanted to be accountable only to myself and no one else for my job. I wanted my freedom, freedom of life, freedom of time, freedom of desire. The desire kept on growing day after day, and I started to push myself out of my comfort zone.

So find WHY you are looking to start a home business.

My attitude towards life took a change when I learned to overcome the “Fear Of Loss” mentality. Seriously, if you really like to better your lifestyle and enjoy your life, you must have an abundance mentality. Do away with your fear of loss mentality.

Are you asking me how?

Well, I don’t know about you but I stumbled upon a book called Magnetic Sponsoring which not only help me change my attitude towards life in an exponentially positive direction, but also instill in my mind that I can definitely own a business too.

So just take the pain to believe in yourself once you decide to start. Internet is an immensely vast medium, growing everyday exponentially. There is no right time to jump into this vehicle to start making money, than NOW. Take advantage of this prospective world of Internet Marketing NOW.

Well, this is just what I think. You can always differ. But you cannot differ the fact. The fact about internet and internet home business remains.

2. Find a Niche – Search For It!

Perhaps this is the most important step to begin with. If you are wondering, a niche is a group which you would target and market your business opportunity to. It just can’t be any market. You have to find a niche which you are passionate about. Think about it.

May be you are holding a job, but have got frustrated and want to get out of it. In fact this is the most common reason why people start looking to find a way to start something new (I am no exception either). And that something has to be a thing which you like, which you are passionate about. Otherwise there is no point to the whole story. If you seriously want to make money working online, you need to get along with a niche you can drive passionately.

Sometimes it happens and is quite possible that you do not have any such passion. But you are looking for ways to make money over internet. The best thing you can do then is look for a niche that interests you. Look, the thing is whatever you do, you should feel happy doing it. You must agree it is very important to your success.

3. Keyword Research – Brainstorm It!

As if selecting a niche you are passionate about or finding a niche you are interested in is not enough, if you do not do a proper in-depth keyword research on that subject. Now what is this keyword research anyways? In short, keyword research should be done in order get a measure as to the popularity of your selected niche.

Let me tell you a secret. If you do not do this research, your business will fail even before it gets started.

Keyword research is all about finding what keywords or keyword phrases people in your niche are using in order to search for a particular information in your niche, may be in Google, Yahoo, Bing, Amazon, Clickbank, eBay or anywhere on the internet for that matter.

Didn’t get it clear?

Let me try once more. Suppose someone types in “how to make money over internet” in Google.com. So this person is searching for ways to make money over internet and that happens to be the keyword phrase for that search in that niche. You need to find out how often that keyword phrase is used to make that search, daily or monthly.

Likewise, you need to do a research on which keywords are popular and more often searched for and make a list of those. But there is another thing to take into consideration as well. What is the competition of that keyword? It’s normal you would definitely like to target a less competitive keyword to begin with. If huge list of people try to target the same keyword, would it be wise to go for it, if you are a newbie? You know the answer, I bet

So to summerize, when you look for keywords for your niche, there are two things to consider.

1st, how popular is the keyword for that niche?

2nd, how less competitive is the keyword for that niche?

“Ok I understand. But how am I supposed to do this research? How do I know about the competition?”

Relax, it is not as difficult, as you might think

Our friend Google provides a free tool to do this research. Check it out here.

Just type in the keywords that come in your mind for your niche (think about from a user perspective, what he can type in Google.com to search for a particular information).

There is an option of Match Type. I suggest you select it as “Exact”.

Then press the Search button.

Google will list down a list of all the related keywords and keyword phrases that are searched for with their global monthly search figures (which indicate how many times that particular keyword is searched for per month).

Make a list of all the keywords in a spreadsheet whose monthly global searches are between 2000-4000 and compitition is less than 10000-15000. That means each keyword/keyword phrase should be such that it is searched for 2000-4000 times per month and the number of webpages consisting of that keyword/keyword phrase is less than 10000-15000. It is essential to target less competitive keywords in the beginning.

To know about the competition, type in your keyword phrase within quotes (like “make money online”) in Google.com. Then look at the top right hand side corner of the search result page. You will see the number of webpages consisting of this exact keyword phrase (within quotes means exact match), which denotes how competitive your selected keyword is. In begining target keywords with competition less than 10000-15000.

You have to continue to research for such a set of keywords. I gave you an idea how to research. Just think from an user perspective and come out with meaningful keyword phrase that a user can type in google to look for a particular thing and then do the research with the help of Google Adwords Keyword Tool to shortlist the less competitive keyword phrases.

Google covers 70% market share, hence researching on google.com means researching at the right place.

Good job, you have done your research. But wait!!!

Why are we doing this research after all? I mean, what exactly will you do with the list of keywords that you gave so much time for?

You’ll find it later. I promise

4. Your Monetization Options – Plan It!

There are many options you can choose from while planning to start an online business. You have to ask yourself first.

Are you going to sell your own digital products online like an information ebook or a software program? Then you have to invest your time and money to creating such products.

Or are you going to promote other people’s products and get a commission on each sell you make. This concept is called Affiliate Marketing, which is the easiest and fastest way to make money over internet. Here you don’t have to take any headache to make your own product. What kind of product you want to promote? May be you are promoting an ebook and you make a profit/commission when a customer buys it. What then? Hence as you can see, you have to plan your monetization options for your site. I just cited a few options above.

As for my case, I only promote affiliate programs primarily with residual income opportunities as of now. This is because I believe residual income is the best way to earn money on a monthly basis. It’s like a royalty, for which you get paid even after few years for a sale you have made long back. Got it?

May be in future I can plan to launch my own product or service. But now, I am just enough happy to get paid every month for each sale I make.

5. Register a Domain Name

You are on your way to give a brand name to your business now my friend A domain name is a name given to your website. It is a unique name on the internet. Like my domain name is BuildAMagneticIncome.com.

Registering the right domain name is very crucial for your business. It should reflect the concept of your website. Plus there should be an element of attraction in the name, which can catch your visitor’s interest. Many marketers spend hours and days to choose the right domain name for their business, because after all, that will become your brand.

Always try to register a .com domain. This is the most common domain extension. If you register something like InternetMarketingSecrets.info, then it can happen that people will remember your website name and automatically as if by reflex, type in InternetMarketingSecrets.com on the address bar. It happens since .com domains are most popular ones that people tend to remember only.

The final tip is to include your main keyword in your domain name, if possible. This would help you in Search Engine Optimization (more on it later).

A Domain Name cannot be bought permanently. You have to register it for a yearly fee of $10-$15, like I have registered my domain name on NameCheap.com for just $10 a year.

I learned the importance of choosing the perfect domain name from an ebook called “MLM Domain Secrets”, which showed me what factors to consider while registering a domain name for an online business and how an improperly chosen domain name can affect a business massively.

6. Register for a Hosting Account

Now that you have registered your domain name which is essentially the Brand Name of your business, it’s time to register for a Hosting Account. It is a space on server where all the files of your website will be kept. Don’t worry about the technicalities of this concept, just go and register a hosting account, it is mandatory for launching a website.

There are many companies who provide such hosting services. You can register a hosting account for a monthly fee of $8-$20. I personally use Hostgator.com for hosting my webpages for only $9.95 per month.

Just keep in mind, there are many free hosting accounts on the internet, but their service is pathetic and space provided is very limited. You can’t allow any visitor coming to your site only to find that your site is down. That would just mean terrible impact on your business. You understand what I mean. So always go for a popular paid service.

You have to provide your domain name while registering for a hosting account, since your domain name will be linked to your hosting account.

I hope you understand the concept now.

7. Building Your Website

So here comes the difficult part. Is it??? If you are a techie and know HTML or PHP, building your website and then uploading your webpages into your hosting account will not be a problem for you.

BUT what if you have no idea about HTML or PHP or ASP or JSP??? Problem???? Nahhhh….. There are plenty of options available today, wherin you just give a damn to these technical whereabouts and get a professional looking website all at once. I can recommend 3 services below.

If anything that can put your website at page 1 on the major search engines, that is original content for your blog. If anything that can make you money over internet, that is pure valuable and beneficial content for your customers. Period.

I cannot stress it more enough. But Content is truely the KING in this online home business.

So here is what you should always aim at.

Give value to your visitors and subscribers by posting new, relevant, fresh, original articles in your website/blog for your niche at a regular basis. Keep a note of the adjectives – New, Relevant, Fresh, Original. Yeah, and remember, the articles should Give Value to your visitors.

In other words, master the skill of Copywriting and you win the race.

Most internet marketers rightly believe that Copywriting is the single most important skill one can have in order to succeed online. This powerful skill alone can make your visitors engage in reading your article or blog post till the end and then just compel them to take their credit cards out of their pockets for your recommended products or services.

But there is a problem and I know it has started striking your head by now

Not everybody can master this skill. That’s true, Copywriting is not an easy thing to master.

So what’s the solution? Well, there is no easy solution my friend. You have to learn to write quality content and then keep improving upon it day after day and month after month. Believe me, it is just the rhythem that matters.

Make it a habit of writing one article every alternate 2 days, forget about the quality at first. If you follow it you are bound to improve your writing skill. It really is the rhythem of writing that matters, when you start seeing positive responses from the visitors of your website.

If not, then go back and master the skill of content creation yourself. Nothing is easy, yet everything is achievable, at least that is what I believe.

But I am having a feeling you are wary of something! Let me guess. May be you have already started scratching your head thinking “How am I going to get different ideas to write so many articles?”

Well, it’s very easy. All you need to do is go for a random search on several article directories for your niche. I bet, you’ll find plenty of ideas to fill up your website or blog with fresh content. Here are a few.

Do you still have your keyword list? Rememeber you researched to shortlist the most searched and less competitive keyword phrases in your niche. So here comes the utility of your research.

For every article or blog post or website content you write or have someone to write, always incorporate one or two of your keyword phrases and get them distributed in the body of your article. This is called optimizing your article with those keywords.

It is very essential to get your content optimized for your researched keywords, in order to get good search engine rankings, which means more visitors will find your website and you can guess what that means to your business.

9. Sign up for an Autoresponder Service – Build an Opt-in list

I think this is most interesting part of your whole business. When I got attracted to this whole concept of internet marketing, the aspect that truely motivated me to start this business is “Automation”. Yes, just think about it. You own a business which runs 24X7, even while you sleep or away in a vacation.

Are you wondering how is that possible? Well, that is the beauty of running an internet home based business, after all.

This is possible because of a software service called Autoresponder, the strongest component of your business. If Content is King, then the Autoresponder is your Secret Weapon, automating your business, running it 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, even at your absence.

So what is this Autoresponder? I’ll explain, but before that let’s have a look at another concept called Opt-in list.

An Opt-in list is a list of subscribers to your website who have agreed to give their names and email-ids to you in exchange of something informative you have offered. When a visitor comes to your website, he sees a free offer by you, say a free ebook or a video or audio tutorial which he will get if he chooses to opt-in by giving his name and email id in the form in the website called the Opt-in form.

Hence each time a visitor subscribe to your list, your autoresponder takes care of the follow up sequence by delivering an email every two days (say) into that subscriber’s inbox, starting with a welcome message and a download link to the free ebook or video or audio tutorial as promised.

Are you wondering why should you have to capture the email ids of your visitors anyway?

It is because, it is most often very unlikely that a first-time-visitor to your website will at all buy anything recommended in your site. Study shows that an average visitor requires at least 7-10 visits to a website, before he buys anything from that site.

Hence it is of utmost importance that you capture the names and email ids of your visitors, so that you can follow up with them with the help of your autoresponder of course, building a relationship with them, teaching them how your services or products can solve their problem.

By now, you must have realized that the autoresponder follow up email series is one of the most essential part of your online business, building a relationship with your subscribers in the process. Give more value once a person is in your opt-in list. It is how you can build trust in the eyes of your subscribers, build your credibility.

Try to remember, how many times have you bought something just because someone you trust has referred it to you? I hope you understand what I mean.

Hence invest good amount of your time to create a valuable follow up email series and configure those in your autoresponder.

10. Make a Monthly Budget for your Business

Great going my friend!!! You are on your way to launch your own Automated Internet Home Based Business. Let’s summerize the steps to take a note of your investment so far in your business.

Domain Name – $10 per year

Hosting Account – $10 per month

Autoresponder – $20 per month

These are your mandatory investment to start your business. The rest are optional. But that being said, it is a known truth that more you invest in your business, the more is your chance to earn money. I believe business is not about big but SMART investment.

If you are promoting affiliate programs with residual income opportunities you need to join them with a monthly subscription fee. There are many legitimate affiliate programs in the market, but don’t get overwhelmed by that. Join only one such paid program to begin with.

When I launched my business, the only paid affiliate program I joined is a program called MyWorldPlus. I did a rigorous research and felt that MyWorldPlus really is the best residual income opportunity off late, with a massive pay plan I didn’t find in any other programs, whatsoever.

You may think why I am talking about failing in my business so early? Well, it is exactly what is called planning your investment. When you plan, always take into account the worst case scenario. You would never go broke that way.

When I started, I fixed my monthly budget to be $100. It meant, that I can go about this $100 every month in my business without going broke, if something terribly wrong happens. Thanks to my effort and action, not much went wrong in the process!

So when can you increase your budget per month? You can do it and you should do it once you start making profits in your business, meaning, you have started making some sales which amounts to be greater than your monthly budget. This is the time you can increase your monthly budget, re-invest into your online business, start outsourcing some of your work more often and start rolling the money in. Cool, huh?

11. Start Promoting your Website Regularly and Consistently

Welcome to the final and biggest step of your online home business. Your success will depend upon how massively you follow this step alone. There are many instances when someone having just a simple website promoting just a single affiliate product, made huge sales online. It is possible mainly because of an effective and ongoing promotion of a website.

The idea is to give your website maximum exposure to your target audience. But you will get it terribly wrong if promote your website in an unplanned manner. Everything has a process. There are several methods by which you can carry out your advertising, both free and paid. And to be honest, free methods of advertising are just enough effective to promote your business. I myself rely on only the free methods.
