Google Caffeine – The Next Generation SEO Unplugged!

I don’t know if you have heard it or not, but I came across the news few days back that Google is dramatically changing its search engine algorithm which it is calling as Caffeine.

Take a note of the changes that will creep in as hinted by Google as a result of its modification to Caffeine.

1. Website Speed – Google Caffeine will now onwards give importance to the speed with which a website is getting loaded. May be Google is now trying to take its users into more consideration and hence this lighter/faster website will get more points in its ranking algorithm.

2. Broken Links – Any website with broken links is sure to get penalized according to the Caffeine rules for ranking. Google is putting quite a weightage as fur as website professionalism is concerned. Again, this is something any user does not like to get often – Links taking them nowhere!

3. Overall Quality of Website – So far we have seen that often websites ranking in the 1st page of a search result are sometimes not impressive enough with their shabby looks. In other words, till now, the look and feel of the websites have not been considered in ranking algorithm, which is changing with the advent of Google Caffeine. Website quality will come under closer inspection henceforth.

4. Penalties for Bad Linkings – Though this is already a rule according to the existing Google algorithm, but Caffeine will just make the rule more stricter. Any spam linking to bad neighborhood can bring quite a nightmare to a webmaster’s life from now onwards. Thus stay away from link farms and other illegal way to attain backlinks.
